The Port of San Antonio
Exports and imports are important elements of the Chilean economy, and most of these activities are concentrated in the Port of San Antonio. Marco Leiva, the Director of Protection, guides us in a journey through this port that was the first of its kind in the country, and he describes its historical and technological development from 1911 to the present day.
Shipyards are large mechanic garages in the shipping world – boats are built, repaired and transformed, combining high technology, organization and craftsmanship. One of the shipyards in Chile, Marco Chilena, is located in Iquique in northern of Chile.
